Northern Farm

Northern Farm Nature Reserve Also known as the Diepsloot Nature Reserve, this is one of Johannesburg's best-kept secrets and offers over 2500ha of beautiful green grasslands and woodlands to explore. There are several dams in the reserve as well as 270 different bird species (incl. a breeding pair of fish eagles). Many different recreational users i.e. cyclists, horse riders, hikers and birders enjoy relaxing in the open space and clean air of the farm. The ideal family outing for a day trip whether you want to relax or be active. There is safe and secure parking at the clubhouse, where toilet, shower and braai facilities are available. At the Clubhouse there is a Coffee Shop called "Hey Brew" light snacks and drinks. * Entrance tickets to the farm need to be purchased from the Northern Farm Ticket Office at SA Trails. (click onto the DIRECTIONS tab to find directions to SA Trails and the Northern Farm) * The farm is only open on weekends and public holidays. * Please read the "Rules of the farm" to familiarize yourself with what is allowed and what is not. * Once you have bought your ticket/access card you will then need to drive across to the Northern Farm Entrance Gate 2.7 km up the road. With no set route, every ride is an adventure. Our spectacular routes through the Northern Farm Nature Reserve offer challenging and technical riding ie. River crossings, Inclines, Bundu-bashing, Canter stretches or if thats not for you just enjoy a gentle bird watching meander.
