Gauteng's weekend market scene has expanded well beyond food, and the family-friendly ones now routinely include play areas, kids' entertainment and pram-navigable layouts. Saturday mornings are busiest; Sunday markets are generally calmer. Parking is the usual friction point — the established markets have marshalled parking, the newer ones often do not. Seasonal events cluster around the Easter and December holidays, and the larger touring shows sell timed tickets that are cheaper booked ahead.
