Theatre shows for adults and kids The Peoples Theatre has been introducing young audiences to the magic of theatre for more than 25 years, performing to over 150,000 children each year. Each production is carefully staged and directed to entertain and educate young audiences with song, dance, life lessons, and just enough slapstick and adult humour thrown in to ensure that Mom and Dad are just as enthralled. Situated in the Joburg Theatre Complex (formerly the Johannesburg Civic Theatre, this purposely created Children’s Theatre is South Africa’s flagship theatre for young people, staging over 8 productions per year. Children are inspired, enchanted and challenged by the power of theatre, where a story book comes to life on stage through elaborate sets, costumes, good sounds, lighting and professional actors. Peoples Theatre believes that all theatre, whether it be for adults or children, has to enjoy the same high levels of production.
